At our co-op’s Math Fair earlier this fall, the kids learned toothpicks and mini-marshmallows spell only one thing:
Brooke’s constructed a Widow’s House.
Brad put wheels on his house.
Dad helped Brian put together a Tower House,
while he ventured out into a little physics/modern art combo himself.
Breanna figured we’d need a little work out after eating the marshmallows, so she put together 20 sets of barbells.
The whole craft cost us $1.09 for a bag of marshmallows, and a little rustle through our baking cabinet to find the toothpicks. What a great, inexpensive bit of fun.
But we couldn’t leave well enough alone. When it was time to clean up, we had to have ourselves a little marshmallow battle.
After all, what better thing can you do with marshmallows with holes in them?

We do this same project in 4-H as a team building exercise. I have also seen it done with dry spaghetti (yeah, I guess cooked spaghetti wouldn’t work – lol) and marshmallows. Fun game!

Sorry, but I have to laugh everytime I look at this picture of you with the marshmallows in your mouth – ROFL! Love it!
