After their visit to the National Crime Museum, the boys drove over to the Smithsonian’s new National Air and Space Museum: Stephen F. Udvar-Hazy Center.

It looks like a fantastic place!

This tower is not working,

but relays all the information from the real tower nearby. You can go up in it to watch over the runway.

This is the Enola Gay, the plane that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima during WWII. I don’t even have words.

After a long day, the boys made sure to get a photo with Dad.

After dinner and an Imax, the boys headed home to show us girls all their photos and tell us all about their exciting day.

alright! I NEED to know. Did you just set this up and tickets in hand hubby and boys showed up for this grand adventure or did he come up with this spectacular idea!?! You all NEVER fail to amaze me. I can only imagine what fun you girls were having!

When we toured DC earlier in the spring, the boys really wanted to go. But the girls didn’t, and I didn’t want to spend the money needlessly. So Chuck took them a few weeks later. They had an absolute blast! Chuck is FANTASTIC about coming up with adventures for our family. He orginially only planned to go to the crime museum, but had time left and capitalized on it. He IS a great guy!
