The Tabernacle

Who knew there was so much symbolism pointing to Christ in the Old Testament desert Tabernacle? We have really enjoyed our study of the Tabernacle, and thought a trip to visit a life-sized replica would be the perfect wrap-up to our study, so we headed to Lancaster, PA for a look-see.

I don’t have many photos because, truth be told, it was a very difficult trip–rainy, full of…ahem, surprises, a cranky two year old, a distraught mama.

But here is a photo of a priest washing his hands in the outer court.

And my kids (with a friend in the center) standing before a depiction of what the desert encampment might have looked like. Just imagine all those folks packing up and heading out to follow the Holy Spirit when He moved. Quite an ordeal!

Despite the difficulties of the day, I loved walking into such a realistic depiction of our religious heritage.
