Cooking Together

In Sonflower Sisters, we follow the Four C’s. We make sure to do each of these at least once a month:

  • Cookbook–we are creating an heirloom cookbook for Brooke when she’s older.
  • Cup of Tea–we sit down to tea and chat about the month’s theme and whatever else is on our minds.
  • Cooking Together–we prepare a meal or a dish together.
  • Culmination–we attend the Celebration Gathering with our Sonflower Sisters.

This morning Brooke and I made our meal for the theme, “In the Pantry.” The lesson is about using food you always keep on hand to make a meal (without buying extra), and, symbolically, using what spiritual ingredients you always have with you (prayer, worship, and God’s Word) to glorify the Lord without having to go somewhere or do something special.

French Toast

3 eggs, broken and scrambled with about 1/4 c. milk

1/2 t. vanilla, smidge of cinnamon, smattering of nutmeg

Mix well with fork; dip bread in on both sides and cook over medium heat, turning as browned.

  1. Very fun, we made pie yesterday–think I may post abut it soon since I took lots of photos. 🙂

  2. I can remember making french toast with my mom! I have that special plate too and use it for birthdays!
