On a Krisp Winter Night

I can’t remember where I found this idea, but I can tell you it was very, very fun for my kids…and me. And to be honest, I can get a little impatient with some of their “fun” crafts.

Start out by making a traditional batch of Rice Krispies Treats.

Spray your hands with vegetable oil spray or coat them in butter–still it’s sticky and messy. Check out Brad’s initial reaction.

Form either round ball bodies,

or flat disc bodies and decorate with candies.

We used Pull-n-Peel Twizzlers licorice (scarf and mouth), Skittles (buttons and one cut in half for a “carrot” nose), and chocolate chips (point-side down for eyes).

Eating them was by far the most fun, though.

And clean-up was a breeze (and quite yummy).

  2. What a great idea! Even the youngest kids can do this. Thanks for sharing.
