Have you ever had…

one of those days? The kind of day when, despite your best efforts at staying positive and redeeming the time, it ends up going from tough to nearly impossible?

I woke up to one feverish daughter; I sent two feverish girls to bed.

I woke up to half a messy house; I went to bed leaving nearly every room a wreck.

I woke up PMS’ing; I went to bed having completely blown my eating plan

I woke up in my pink velour pj’s; I went to bed in those same pj’s (without ever having changed out of them).

What do you do on those days?

I woke up trying to come up with a plan to handle the day; I went to bed with the words of Psalm 143:8 on my lips:

Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You.

What do you do on those days?

  1. oh my goodness! i am so sorry that it was one of those days. I hate it when that happens….when you feel like you never get out from under your day. i hope tomorrow wakes up better!!

  2. all God requires of us is our best and it looks like that is what you are giving. Hope tomorrow goes better for you!

  3. I have many of “those days” and try to focus on all of the blessings instead of everything that went wrong!

  4. “Choose Joy” — ever since I heard that from a Bible teacher, it comes to mind often — especially on those days! It’s simple but profound. I popped over via The Nester — your comments were exactly what I’ve been feeling lately but thought it was just me. You communicated your feelings in such a wonderfully warm way 🙂

  5. On “those days” (we all have them), I try to remember the promise of tomorrow. It’s a reminder from God that we’re not in control, as much as we’d like to be. God doesn’t give us what we can handle, he helps us handle what we’ve been given…(not my original quote, but I like it).
