Sabbath Sweetness: Resurrection Rolls

This is one of our favorite yearly rituals. I used the directions as found here.

You’ll need:

  • 1 tube refrigerated crescent rolls (8)
  • 3 T. melted butter
  • 8 large marshmallows
  • 1/8 c. cinnamon/sugar mixture
  • 1 baking pan covered in foil

Read Matthew 27:57-61 about how Jesus’ body was prepared for burial.

Dip a marshmallow (Jesus’ body) in the melted butter (oils)

dip

and roll it in cinnamon/sugar (spices).

roll

Lay it on the crescent roll (linen) and pull up the sides til the marshmallow is hidden inside.

close

Cover the top with the remainder of the melted butter and cinnamon/sugar (seal the tomb).

top

Cook for 8-10 mins. on 350 and let cool.

cook

The children will immediately notice “Jesus” is missing (marshmallow has melted).

open

Finish up by reading Matthew 28:5-8.

  1. oh man i wish i had this one this morning…we made quick sticky cinnamon buns on yard sale day….these look deliscious

  2. Oh, that’s brilliant! I want to try Resurrection cookies again. They didn’t turn out last time. You put them in the oven Saturday night, and they’re hollow on Easter morning.

Wow, I was just thinking about these a few days ago! We did them two or three years ago and I was wondering if I could find the recipe to do them again this year and viola! Great timing =)
